The Sangre De Cristo Electric Association (SDCEA) offers the Energy Efficiency Credit Program, a rebate program which offers incentives for heat pumps, water heaters, appliances, and LED lighting.
Contact SDCEA for heat pump rebate requirements and amounts.
New and replacement water heaters are also eligible for rebates under this program. Water heaters are eligible for a $100 rebate per unit, and an additional $25 rebate for units controlled by low wattage elements (3,000 watts maximum). In addition, the customer can receive a $25 rebate for purchasing a lifetime warranty on the water heater.
The ENERGY STAR Appliance Program provides $40 rebates on refrigerators/freezers, clothes washers, and dishwashers. Customers must submit a receipt and an application signed by an SDCEA representative within 180 days of the equipment purchase.
SDCEA also offers rebates for ENERGY STAR LED light bulbs. The rebate is for the lower of 50% of the fixture cost or $10 per fixture, capped at 50 fixtures per year. Commercial lighting rebates are also available; contact SDCEA for more information.
To apply for these rebates, customers should contact the SDCEA Member Services Department to set up a site inspection and fill out the necessary forms.
