Swiss-Canadian independent power company Etrion Corp. has completed construction and connected to the grid the remaining two sites of the »Aomori« solar project totaling 4.2 MW and will start recognizing revenues immediately. These two sites were built by Hitachi High-Technologies.

»Aomori« is a 9.5 MW utility-scale PV power project with four sites in the Aomori prefecture of Japan. Each Aomori site has a twenty-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Tohoku Electric Power utility and will receive ¥36 ($0.35) per kWh. The Aomori solar project is expected to produce approximately 10.7 GWh per year.

Etrion and Hitachi High-Technologies are also building in Japan the 13.2 MW »Komatsu« solar project located in the Ishikawa Prefecture. The facility is expected to be fully operational by the second quarter of 2018. The project company will enter into a 20 year PPA with Hokuriku Electric and receive ¥32 per kWh ($0.32).

Once operational, Komatsu is expected to produce approximately 14.2 GWh per year. Etrion owns 85.1 percent of the Komatsu project, and Hitachi High-Technologies owns the remaining 14.9 percent.

»Komatsu« is the fourth solar project to be built under the partnership of Etrion and Hitachi with a target to reach 300 MW either under construction or shovel-ready by 2018.
