JinkoSolar announced that the maximum conversion efficiency of its bifacial solar panels reached 22.49%, breaking the previous bifacial solar panel world record and setting a new solar power industry standard for efficiency of mass produced solar cells. These results were verified during testing conducted by TÜV Rheinland.

Individual bifacial solar cells from LONGi have reached 24.06% efficiency of a solar panel, and bifacial solar cells from Trina have reached 24.58% efficiency of a solar panel. Jinko’s 22.49% record is based on a mass-produced full solar panel.

JinkoSolar was able to significantly improve efficiency of a solar panel for its mass produced solar panels by applying newly developed ARC and advanced metallization technologies and proven proprietary technologies to high-efficient solar cell design. New tiling ribbon (TR) technology was also incorporated into the solar cell design which eliminates any inter-cell gap, ensuring high-efficiency and high-reliability, while significantly improving the solar panel’s appearance. The high-efficiency solar panels also help reduce the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) as the solar power industry approaches grid parity globally.
