August 30th, JinkoSolar released its unaudited financial results from the second quarter of 2019. The solar company’s total module shipments were 3,386 MW, which is an 11.5 % increase from the first quarter of 2019 and a 21.2 % increase from the second quarter of 2018. The solar company’s gross margin was 16.5 % in comparison to the first quarters 16.6 % and 12 percent in the second quarter of 2018.

The solar company also saw an increase in revenues. In the second quarter of 2019, JinkSolar posted revenue of $1.01 billion, which was an 18.7 % increase from the first quarter of 2019 and a 14.1 % from the second quarter of 2018.

JinkoSolar’s CEO said. “We have made significant progress during the quarter in positioning ourselves for future sustainable growth and strengthening the reputation of our high-quality products.”

Another solar company that has done well in the first two quarters of 2019 is LONGi. August 28th the solar company released its semi-annual report. The report showed that in the first half of 2019 LONGi shipped 2.184 billion pieces of monocrystalline silicon wafers, which is a 183 % increase from the previous year. The sales of photovoltaic cells reached 712 MW and the sale of solar panels hit 3,193 MW, a 21 % year-over-year increase.

The operating revenue in the first half of 2019 reached $2.01 billion, a 41.09 % year-over-year increase, thanks in part to the debut of its Hi-MO4 bifacial perc solar panels with half-cut technology. To date, LONGi has received over 2GW in orders for the Hi-MO4.
