Trump's Tariffs Remove Cheap Solar Panel Costs

Recently President Trump imposed 30 percent tariffs on imported solar panel imports.  Also, recently solar panel prices were seen diving down about 12 percent globally since China declared changes to its incentives for solar power.  This June 1st declaration from the worlds largest solar panel producer, China, set the tone for a massive lowering of costs that could have been led to large low-price solar panels for many people across the world.  However, the prices for solar have instead leveled at prior rates, as Trump's new tariffs have irradicated U.S. potential solar panel savings. 
 
“If you are building a large power plant your pricing has certainly come back at least halfway to what it was pre-tariff if not all the way,” Tom Werner, the CEO of SunPower Corp (SPWR.O), said during an interview after the company’s second-quarter financial results statement. “It’s muting the impact of tariffs.”
