Renewables firm EDF Energies Nouvelles has 1.9GW of renewable energy projects under construction in 2018, which includes 900MW of solar projects, according to parent company EDF in its annual financial report.
EDF Energies Nouvelles was reported to have increased its renewable power output by 11% in 2017, which totalled reached 12.6TWh. In total net installed capacity increases by 1.6GW, to 7.8GW.
The company generated EBITDA of €751 million in 2017 to EDF.
Recently, EDF Energies Nouvelles announced a joint venture with Asia Clean Capital (ACC) to build and operate a pipeline of distributed rooftop solar projects in China.
A report from Asia Europe Clean Energy (Solar) Advisory Co (ASEA) noted that the Distributed Generation (DG) market in China topped a ‘staggering’ 19.44GW of installations in 2017. The DG maket in China includes the rooftop market. Total solar installations topped 53GW in China last year.
