Soltec is supplying trackers to four Yingli solar PV power plants totalling 46MW, located in the outskirts of Copiapó, in the Atacama Desert, Chile.

The four plants, named Malaquita, Cachiyuyo, Valle Solar Este, and Valle Solar Oeste have 11.5MW capacity each and are being developed by Chinese firm Yingli Solar.

“With over 400MW of solar trackers supplied and underway in Chile and more than 2.2GW in Latin America, Soltec has proven to be a reliable partner in large-scale projects. Soltec’s strong manufacturing and supply capacity enables customer project success,” said José María Celdrán, Soltec’s regional general manager for Argentina, Chile, and Peru.

“We are happy to engage with Soltec for this supply agreement, since Soltec has a strong track record and well-recognized brand, within the top three worldwide. We expect to increase our committed volume in the short term,” declared Fernando Calisalvo, managing director at Yingli Green Energy Europe.
