Leading ‘Silicon Module Super League’ (SMSL) member JinkoSolar is to supply 38.4MW of PV modules to Fuji Electric’s solar plant in Tomakomai, on the southern Japanese island of Hokkaido, which will be coupled with a 10MWh energy storage system.
Delivery will take place from July to November in 2017 and the project is expected to be connected to the grid in 2018 with a feed-in tariff (FiT) rate of ¥40/kWh (US$0.36).
The plant has been funded by Tokumei Kumiai investments, Japanese institutional investors, Aquila Capital from Germany, and Green Power Development Corporation of Japan.
"We are glad to work with Fuji Electric for this interesting project in Hokkaido," said Gener Miao, vice president, global sales and marketing at JinkoSolar. "We will continue to provide high-quality PV products that our partners can rely on, and devote our efforts to the green energy development in Japan. We look forward to collaborating with Fuji Electric on future projects."
