174 Power starts construction on 236 MW PV plant in Texas

174 Power Global Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of the South Korean Hanwha Group, has begun construction on the 236 MW »Midway Solar« PV project in Pecos County in West Texas. Hanwha Q-Cells provide more than 680,000 monocrystalline 345 W modules. Engineering, procurement, and construction will be performed by Hanwha Q Cells USA. 174 Power Global will build, own and operate the power plant for 25 years and sell the power to Texas renewable energy purchaser Austin Energy.

Investment is about $260 million. According to the company, the project has been in development for 2 years.
