First Solar, Inc. announced full-year 2018 guidance and forecasted net sales for 2018 of $2.3 to $2.5 billion, with solar power systems net sales expected to comprise 75 to 80 percent of the total net sales. The 2018 ending net cash balance is projected in the range of $1.6 to $1.8 billion, with the expected decrease from the end of 2017 resulting from higher projected capital expenditures in 2018 to support the »Series 6« module production ramp. The company expects operating income of $100 to $200 million and shipments of 2.7 to 2.8 GW.
For 2017, the company updated the guidance in October in its latest quarterly report and expects sales of $3.0 billion to $3.1 billion, operating income of $165 million to $190 million (formerly announced $115 million to $180 million) and shipments of 2.6 GW to 2.7 GW.
