Just a few weeks after setting its last world record for mono-PERC efficiency, JinkoSolar has pushed even further, and hit 23.45% conversion efficiency from a mono-PERC cell. This represents the fifth cell or module record set by Jinko in 2017.
The company stated that its adherence to ‘Industry 4.0’ principles was behind the achievement, and that the innovative use of mobile devices, robots and ‘internet of things’ applications allows it to better collect data, trace yields and optimize workflow efficiency.
“With the assistance of intelligent manufacturing we can translate these world record learnings into mass production,” commented JinkoSolar CEO Kangping Chen. “Effective introduction and implementation of smart manufacturing will help JinkoSolar to further improve its production flows.”
Last month, JinkoSolar set the mono-PERC cell efficiency record at 22.78%, mere days after the previous record was broken by rival manufacturer Longi Solar. The two companies are also vying with each other for the position of leading supplier to the Chinese PV market.
