BYD Company Limited (»Build your dreams«), principally engaged in the automobiles, and, amongst others, as well in the rechargeable batteries and photovoltaic business, has won a multi-million-dollar contract to supply 170 MW for a PV power plant projects in the USA. The facility will be built by US developer Nextera Energy. According to the company, the deal is BYD’s largest single solar module order in the North American marketplace.
According to Tom Zhao, Managing Director of BYD Solar Division, BYD is also in discussions with several global new energy companies about introducing EV-charging infrastructure and other solutions to create a zero-emission closed loop system, from power generation to energy storage for sustainable consumption. BYD’s pure electric buses are being used by more than 40 fleet clients in more than 30 states in the US.
