Spanish engineering and construction company Elecnor S.A. has been awarded the AUD 173 million (USD 139 million) EPC contract for the second phase of the »Bungala« PV project. The contract for the 137 MW »Bungala Two« facility follows the award to Elecnor last April of the contract for the »Bungala One« plant.

The »Bungala« complex, located in the state of South Australia, will have a capacity of 374 MW and will be rolled out in three phases. The first two plants will each have a capacity of 137 MW for a total of 275 MW.

The remaining 100 MW are under development, says the company. Elecnor will build »Bungala Two« for the investment consortium comprising Enel Green Power and Dutch Infrastructure. The plant consists of 437,000 solar panels of an unnamed manufacturer and will come on stream in the first quarter of 2019. Elecnor will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plants for five years, a contract worth AUD 17 million (USD 17 million).

Elecnor operates in Australia through a subsidiary created in 2014 and headquartered in Melbourne.
