The Spanish solar project developer Gransolar announced on its website that it has achieved, within the expected period, the CAP of the Camargo project in Mexico by its client Balam Fund.
In May, Gransolar had announced the plant, which has a capacity of 35.4 MW and is located in Camargo, in Mexico’s northern state of Chihuahua, obtained the COD (Commercial Operation Date). In the press release published at that time, the company said that the construction and commissioning phases have been completed and that the installation complies with the relevant grid codes and standards, and that all relevant parts are satisfied and convinced that it can operate as intended and safely. “In short,” Gransolar stressed, “it´s the point from which the project becomes a revenue generating entity. The point at which the electricity generated is fed to the grid and our customer can charge the energy produced at 100% for each kWh from that date.”
Starting from July 20, Gransolar began O&M activities for the plant, which includes all preventive and corrective maintenance work, with spare parts management, monitoring every day of the year and guarantee of availability .
According to Energía Hoy, the project was acquired by Balam Fund from Spanish renewable energy company Avant Energías Renovables for $45 million in March 2016.
