The most obvious advantages of solar energy, are that is that it is abundant, sustainable, secure, and reliable. Even in more cloudy countries, there is enough energy in the rays that reach the surface of the earth to generate electricity. However, there are some areas that are naturally sunny spots. Locations such as California, Arizona, and Nevada, are ideal for solar power because of the amount of sun that lands on the surface.

Just as individual households or businesses can achieve independence in relation to the power supply, towns can do the same with whole communities living off-grid and being self-sufficient. In a world of limited and strained resources, this is a major advantage… and one that will be increasingly important in the future.

Rural and inaccessible areas benefit greatly from solar

Small, rural, and or hard to reach communities are greatly benefited from solar power because big energy suppliers have to create the massive infrastructure to support fossil fuel production. With solar, this is no longer an issue.  The fact that solar systems are now available in various sizes, shapes, and thicknesses also makes them far more versatile as far as applications and where they can be used. New applications and technologies are constantly being invented and some exciting new methods and materials are currently being developed.
