How a solar system works

How a solar system works

There are a few components to a solar system and you need to know about them all.

First, there is the solar panel and then you connect the solar panel to a power inverter, which inverts the DC electricity into AC electricity, and then you send it to the connected meter.

Three things happen to the light when it hits your solar panel. First, the light can be reflected from the surface, but because of the colors of solar panels, that does not happen very much. Second, the light can be absorbed in the material when then excites the electrons inside. Those electrons in between the two layers are what gives the panel electricity.

It can reduce or eliminate your electric bills

When I say reduce, I mean to reduce it from hundreds of dollars to something like $10. Maybe even free and maybe even a credit applied to the next month.

This benefit is pretty straightforward. When you install solar power for your home, then you generate your own electricity. You become less reliant on your local utility and like we mentioned, you have the potential to completely eliminate your electric bill. A solar power system is built to last about 30 years, which means you can cut your utility costs for decades.

It Increases the value of your home

Recent studies found property values increase after solar is installed. It’s that simple. The funny thing is if there were more Toyota Priuses than trucks in the area, then the value increased more. Solar is so popular right now that in some cases it can increase the value of homes enough to completely offset the cost of installation.

So, even if you’re planning on moving in a few years, you’ll earn back your solar panel investment when you sell your home.
