California Is On Top Of The Solar Panel Pricing World

Did you know if you catch a wave, you will be sitting on top of the world?  Well, that's what The Beach Boys claimed.  I wanted to be sitting in that position, so at the age of 9, I traveled to Santa Barbara and rented my first surfboard.  On that day, I was not sitting on top of the world.  I almost drowned.  I spent a good part of the day exhausting myself trying to get out past the incoming waves to a distance where I could catch a wave.  With each punishing and humiliating moment, I was sent underwater, sinuses filled with sandy saltwater, and thrown back toward shore.  About 3 hours later, I caught some of my first waves, and the rest is history.  Five years later, I would be surfing 6-8 foot sets with pleasure at Sandy Beach on Oahu's South Shore.  But, there are some great waves back in California, and you don't have to hit the ocean to be sitting on top of the world.  If you are interested in going solar, you could be on top of the energy cost savings world.   California is a leader in the country for solar power energy production, and there are some great deals to be had by purchasing solar panels today in this incredible state.

2019 Installation Building Energy Code

A large start toward massive solar panel cost saving is coming with the introduction of the 2019 Building Energy Code.  This code declares that solar energy will be installed on all newly built homes in the state.  The upfront price could be a big hit for new home builder originally, but they will find a breakeven point in most situations within ten years.  Thi is an aggressive approach to wide-spread solar panel installation, but Californian home buyers could potentially encounter a per unit prices drop to rates approaching that of some of the world’s largest utility-scale solar centers.

Soft Costs Defined For You

What is this thing called soft-cost?  Put, soft costs are construction industry language for an expense item that is not recognized in direct construction costs.   Soft costs continue up to a significant distinction between California and many other states. In the world of home solar panel installations and pricing, some of these soft costs include permitting, financing, installation labor, the price of customer purchase, and paying suppliers, one questions if there is enough capital to keep everyone afloat.  Hopefully, some amount is left over for the business if they want to stay in business.

Also significant, soft costs aren’t decreasing in comparison to actual solar panel equipment costs by comparison. So, this change made by California is likely to lower soft costs, as it is supposed to put descending pressure on almost all of these soft cost groups.  New home builders can absorb these soft costs through the 2019 Building Energy Code.  So, for new home builders, the future is seeming bright for solar panel pricing and savings in the long-run.
