Counteracting climate change

Climate change is here and man has the responsibility to make the changes necessary to counteract the devastating consequences of global warming. We should respond prudently and in every way imaginable to the threats from climate change. In the distant future, it is a certainty that the Earth will warm beyond what is occurring today. Clearly, the burning of fossil fuels is the prime cause of the earth warming. Researchers believe the earth has about another fifty years of gas, oil, and coal. After that, there will be a profound need to address how to supply the world with clean energy. Solar energy is a technology that is ready to go now and is already powering a large percentage of the world. The most profound thing we can do to protect our earth is to be more conscious energy consumers.

Humans should lead by example and install solar panels

It is more important than ever to be an example of environmental responsibility. All of us should lead by example, and as much as possible, while keeping our personal freedoms we hold so dearly. We analyze how we conduct our lives on a daily basis. It is reasonable to have it drop one percent every two years for as long as you have been in your house. Lights are a major source of electricity usage. Lights on timers, for example, should be LEDs or at least fluorescents. It is important to be aware of turning off lights that are not in use.

What actions should we take to respond to climate change?

Taking immediate action to reduce our carbon footprint is the most responsible action we can take to help offset the dangerous consequences of global warming. We must respond sensibly to the threats from climate change. We live in a global economy, much of it with lower production costs than our own in the developed world.  Let us be aware of the actions that put us at a disadvantage. Actions we can take today are simple and cost nothing. Reduce your power use!
